Rebell of the month: Scott Hovaldt
Scott has earned the title Rebell of The Month for March!! Scott is a hard working Rebell who shows up and kicks ass. He has such a great attitude and takes his fitness serious. Here is how Scott has gotten stronger and more mobile!
Tell us about yourself
I am 30 years old and I have never done any type of training. Back in high school was probably
the last time before joining Restored Strength where I picked up any weights. I have been
having lower back issues for the past couple years and going to the chiropractor at least 1 time a week. I was seeing minor changes but the pain was still there. So that is when I decided to try
something different. That is what brought me to Restored Strength
Thoughts about strength training before/after becoming a Rebell
I thought strength training was just for people that were trying to get buff or involved in sports.
I thought it was a waste of time and money. I mean who really likes to get tired for fun? LOL. But since joining in September 2020, I have completely switched my mindset. I am getting to be an old man now and my body needs routine maintenance to stay at peak operating capacity. Strength training is beneficial for people of all ages and experience.

Obstacles you overcame
I was not flexible at all before joining Restored Strength. I am now able to bend over and touch
the floor with ease. I could barely get to my ankles prior to joining. I also rarely have lower back
pain now.
Achievements you accomplished at Restored Strength?
My greatest achievement is lessening my lower back pain and becoming more flexible. My wife
also says she can tell that I look and feel stronger!

This is our fur baby, Cozy. She is a 7 month old shepherd mix. She wears then pants in the house and gets what she wants!
What changes have others noticed?
The most important change that I have learned is that you can do anything you set your mind to. I was skeptical about how strength training would be able to help me with my back issues. But the first month when I tried Fall Back to Fitness, I could tell this would be something I enjoyed. The trainers are great and the members are also wonderful to be around. Everyone is super positive and no one judges each other.

What do you tell your friends about RS?
I would tell them that this gym is not your normal gym. Couch William and the rest of the
trainers/staff have turned this into a one-stop-shop. They offer training 5 days a week with
sessions in the morning and evening to accommodate the member’s schedule. They offer
nutritional advice and are about to get into massage. If you have a chiropractor that you see
routinely, they are also open to reaching out to them to make sure everything is working
together to reach a common goal.
What’s your favorite thing about RS?
I like the ever-changing workouts each month. They aren’t your standard workouts that you
would do at the YMCA or Anytime Fitness. You don’t use any machines and mainly use free
weights or your own body weight. It is amazing how good of a workout you can get without the
use of standard weight lifting machines.

Results you’ve gotten from our gym?
The three benefits I have received from joining Restored Strength would be: Improved flexibility, better understanding of how to protect yourself from injury, and gaining the mindset that you can do a workout program even if you have never engaged in one.
Why is RS different?
I haven’t really worked with other trainers or other programs before this one. But I can still tell
that this gym is just exactly what they say “A Gym for the Rest of Us”. I don’t think I would fit in
or like the typical gym setting.
